University improves position in prestigious global ranking
UCLan now estimated to be in the top 3.7% of all worldwide universities
Graduating students from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) have an extra reason to celebrate today with news of a rise for UCLan within a prestigious world university league table.
According to the Centre for World University Rankings 2016 UCLan is estimated to be amongst the top 3.7% of all worldwide universities
Ranked at 924 among the 25,000+ degree-granting institutions of higher education worldwide, it is the highest position ever achieved by the University in the CWUR rankings and is up from inclusion in the estimated top 3.8% last year.
UCLan was highly rated in the ‘Quality of Faculty’ category, which measures the number of academics who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals and the ‘Quality of Education’ section, which is measured by the number of a University's alumni who have won major international awards, prizes, and medals relative to the University's size.

The CWUR publishes the only global university ranking that measures the quality of education and training of students as well as the prestige of the faculty members and the quality of their research.
