The RIBA organised competition will challenge architectural practices across the world to create designs that will deliver an excellent student experience and create a world-class campus.
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Competitions will be launching an international competition for two key projects within the University’s £200 million Masterplan.
The RIBA organised competition will challenge architectural practices across the world to create designs that will deliver an excellent student experience and create a world-class campus.
UCLan and RIBA’s competition will focus on the new student support centre and the creation of a new civic square which will be at the heart of the campus in Preston, Lancashire.
Both projects are integral aspects of UCLan’s 10-year, Campus Masterplan proposals which will act as a catalyst for additional investment in the City and the University quarter.
UCLan Vice-Chancellor Professor Mike Thomas said: “Our vision for the new student support centre and new square is to create an inspiring campus gateway which will be of benefit to both students and the local community. We are looking for an imaginative design which really help to draw the City and University together like never before.
“We’ll also engage with the local community and key stakeholders to gauge their opinion on the proposed designs as their input is critical to this process.”
Interested architecture practices can find further details on RIBA's Competition Page.
The closing date for submissions is 10am on 20 May.
