The Nazir Afzal essay competition 2020 is now open for your chance to win £500.

The competition is named after British solicitor and former Chief Crown Prosecutor Nazir Afzal OBE who, during a 24 year career, has prosecuted some of the most high profile cases in England, and led nationally on numerous legal topics including Violence against Women & Girls, child sexual abuse, and honour based violence. 


Honour Abuse Research Matrix (HARM) invites everyone with an interest in the topic to enter our annual Nazir Afzal essay competition.

Essay title:  What steps must we take to eliminate harmful traditional practices?

The winner of the competition will be announced at the annual HARM Conference, where they will be presented with a £500 prize kindly donated by our sponsors.

Maximum word count for the essay is 1,500 words.
