UCLan receives 91% student satisfaction score in International Student Barometer survey

International students at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) have given the University a top rating for student satisfaction.

UCLan scored 91% for overall satisfaction in the International Student Barometer survey, which is open to all students from outside of the UK studying at participating institutions, placing it sixth in the table amongst other modern universities in the UK.

The University was ranked top in the country for its ‘fair and transparent assessment of work’, ‘explanation of marking criteria’ and ‘satisfaction with assignment’ feedback.

Other areas where UCLan scored highly in the survey, which divides questions into themes of arrival, learning, living, learning support and overall satisfaction, were for ‘course academic content’ with a 91.7% satisfaction rating and a score of 91.5% for the ‘quality of its lectures’.  When it comes to accommodation costs UCLan came second in the country and in the category relating to student advisory services, the University was ranked fifth overall.

"UCLan’s international students are very much part of the fabric of the University community and it’s fantastic to see that 91% of our international students are so very happy with their experience at UCLan."

Liz Bromley, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Corporate and International Strategy), said: “UCLan’s international students are very much part of the fabric of the University community and it’s fantastic to see that 91% of our international students are so very happy with their experience at UCLan.

“More than 44,000 international students studying in the UK took part in the International Student Barometer survey, which is well respected and taken seriously by potential applicants so it’s absolutely brilliant to see UCLan do so well.

“We aim to inspire all of our students to reach their potential and develop as global citizens.  By continuing to invest in excellent staff, cutting-edge technology and developing our campus through the ambitious Masterplan, I feel confident our satisfaction levels will go from strength-to-strength.”

The International Student Barometer is an online survey conducted by i-Graduate and is open to all international students at the University.  As well as in the UK the survey is conducted in other countries around the world, setting a global benchmark for international student experience.
