Attendees to gain insights into the techniques hackers use to access networks

Lancashire SMEs are being invited to attend the launch of a new service which will offer important guidance on cyber security for businesses and create awareness of the need for robust security solutions.

The launch of Preston-based information security company N3bular sponsored by and in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) will take place on October 18.

N3bular provides cost-effective and tailored information security solutions for businesses in Lancashire, including 24/7 monitoring services and training for the next generation of cybersecurity experts.

The launch event comprises two sessions at UCLan’s Media Factory, with the first starting at 9am until 11am and the second from 3.30pm until 5.30pm.

Attendees will find out how vulnerable data is, and gain insights into the techniques hackers use to access networks.

"Attendees of our launch event will gain an important insight into just how easy it can be to be the victim of a data breach, and find out how we can help in relation to prevention and detection."

Paul Castle, chief executive officer at N3bular, said: “Cyber security extends beyond the firewall and traditional protection methods can often be ineffective as more and more modern threats emerge. What makes us different is that we offer in-depth operational intelligence which means we can identify intruders in minutes rather than months.

“With the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) set to take effect in May next year, it’s more crucial than ever for SMEs to have a full understanding of how they can protect themselves and their customers.

“Attendees of our launch event will gain an important insight into just how easy it can be to be the victim of a data breach, and find out how we can help in relation to prevention and detection.”
