Staff and students are running free events at the national event, being held in Blackburn on 12 and 13 May
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is once again lending its support to the upcoming National Festival of Making 2018.
Taking place across various sites in Blackburn town centre on 12 and 13 May, the free event will see a number of UCLan staff and students running a variety of creative sessions.
The practical events include workshops on kantha stitch embroidery, darning, scarves, and perspex stitching while four fashion design students will lead An Audience with Wayne Hemmingway session. There will also be a small exhibition of current students’ work.
Amanda Odlin-Bates, Senior Lecturer in Fashion, said: “It’s a wonderful event which allows people to come together to explore their making potential or re-visit traditional techniques that used to be passed down through the generations."
"The event highlights the very best in innovative fashion and art so for us to be asked to come along again is wonderful and we are looking forward to sharing our skills."
The National Festival of Making will also feature artists, designers, national and international manufacturers alongside small-scale makers and the public.
In addition to running various sessions, the University is also one of the sponsors.
Last year the first National Festival of Making welcomed 30,000 people of all ages to the event.
