Undergraduates working with city shopping centre to create fashion show
You can discover Preston’s ultimate style secrets at exclusive fashion show thanks to a successful partnership between the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and Fishergate.
Fishergate Presents: Style Secrets is a guaranteed night of festive fun and everyone is invited. The show is back for a third year on 30 November at 6.30pm.
Students from the University’s fashion promotion with styling course are working in conjunction with the shopping centre to present an exciting fashion show, which will unlock Preston’s biggest style secrets.
Showcasing the very best from the high street, models will walk the runway in brands such as Primark, Debenhams, TK Maxx and Evans, alongside independent labels with a seasonal Christmas twist. The runway looks will no doubt provide plenty of style inspiration for shopper’s Christmas wardrobes whatever the budget.
The event will showcase the course’s up and coming fashion stylists and locally scouted models, with the chance for one lucky model to win a contract with leading North West agency, Boss Model Management. Last year’s winner, Tom Craig from Fulwood, has been extremely successful, fronting campaigns for leading brands and retailers across the country.
UCLan’s fashion promotion with styling course provides students with the skills and confidence to pursue a career within the visual communication industry. The fashion show module in particular, enables students to engage with a live event and develop their skills within areas such as marketing, model casting and set design.
