UCLan Publishing organises free event in Preston’s Mobile Event Tent
Preston’s Mobile Event Tent (MET) will be shrouded in mystery this September as it welcomes two young adult thriller writers for a special event organised by UCLan Publishing.
Thrills and Chills – Take Two, will see authors Amy McCaw and Cynthia Murphy chat to fellow young adult writer Melissa Welliver about writing bestselling horror and thrillers.
Taking place on Saturday 10 September, 11.00am – 12.30pm, it will be held in the MET, a unique temporary mobile structure which currently sits on the University Square and host arts, cultural and community events in the city.
The event has been organised the University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) publishing arm, UCLan Publishing, following its success at this year’s Northern Young Adult Literary Festival (NYALitFest).
"The MET is a really special venue and will create the perfect atmosphere to discuss all the things that gives us the chills with two authors who know how to write those hooks that keep us compulsively reading until the early hours."
— Hazel Holmes, Publisher at UCLan Publishing and event organiser
Hazel Holmes, Publisher at UCLan Publishing and event organiser, said: “The Thrills and Chills panel at this year's NYALitFest was a hit, so much so, we've decided to do it again to celebrate the publication of Mina and The Slayers by Amy McCaw.
“The MET is a really special venue and will create the perfect atmosphere to discuss all the things that gives us the chills with two authors who know how to write those hooks that keep us compulsively reading until the early hours.”
There will be an opportunity to purchase books at the event and all authors are available to sign them.
Thrills and Chills – Take Two is free but booking is essential. Book via Eventbrite.
