Nutrition and Health Laboratory

The Nutrition and Health laboratory is a part of our purpose built labs designed to support physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, and strength and conditioning.

Our facilities are designed to support these areas and are equipped with equipment to facilitate learning, research and consultancy in sport, exercise and nutritional sciences. We have a strong team of researchers and practitioners who have the necessary expertise and are committed to providing support.

Examples of what our consultancy service offers includes anthropometry, body composition, biochemical analysis and dietary analysis. We offer body composition analysis using the SECA medical body composition analyser which measures bioelectrical impedance over eight sites of the body simultaneously to determine fat mass and fat-free mass Additionally members of our team have expertise in the use of skinfold callipers to measure subcutaneous fat.

In terms of Dietary analysis, we use a validated software package, which enables a comprehensive assessment of your nutritional intake from dietary records. We also offer biochemical assessment of Cholesterol, Triglycerides and Glucose

SECA Body composition analyser; Randox Misano Clinical Chemistry Analyser; stadiometers; digital weighing scales; calibrated skin fold callipers.

Availability

Monday-Friday 9am - 5:00 pm. Evenings and weekends by agreement/arrangement.
