This module will allow you to learn how to design computer software and write programs in the C++ language. You will gain the ability to analyse a variety of problems and design a logical solution to a professional standard.

On this module you'll gain knowledge and an understanding of the fundamentals of data communications and computer networks. You'll develop practical skills in order to set up and configure a computer network.

Within an interactive and stimulating learning environment, you will work in teams to discuss and explore a variety of systems. This will develop an in-depth understanding and the practicalities of database design and implementation which you can add to your programming skillset.

The module will equip you with the ability to define the concept of the project in relation to contemporary organisational contexts. It aims to introduce the needs, tools and success/failure indicators involved when managing projects. By the end of the module you'll have developed the tools and confidence you need to be a skilled project manager.

You'll get the chance to explore your experience during your apprenticeship and develop your independence, creativity, initiative and other key skills. You'll look at managing your career development and the importance of life-long learning. We'll help you to set personal and professional goals and develop plans to achieve them.

The module aims to equip you with the capability to define the concept of the project in relation to contemporary organisational contexts. This module will introduce the needs, tools and the success/failure indicators for managing projects. 

You will develop a good foundation in web development methods. The module introduces structured methods of interactive website design, development, and testing. It will encourage your creative responses to design requirements.

This module will provide you with an understanding of the professional, ethical and legal aspects of Computing. You will develop skills to prepare for employment including project planning, investigation skills and working in a team.

This module will examine a range of vulnerabilities and attacks on computer systems and networks. You'll instil a vigilant attitude towards potential system weaknesses and understand the methods for protecting communication and computer systems. You'll also encourage a systematic approach to computer security.

You will learn the key elements of the fast-paced business and management sector. Through this module you will analyse the organisational environment within a variety of businesses. Furthermore, you will also develop an understanding of the importance of technology within organisations.

On this module you'll explore the relational database concepts and outline the benefits of the relational theory. You'll study data definition and manipulation through a relational query language and have the experience of using a 4GL database environment. You'll also use data analysis to familiarise yourself with the structure and functions of database management systems.

You'll carry-out research for a topic relevant to your specialism. We'll encourage you engage in critical reading, examination and practice in your Digital and Technology Solutions specialism. You'll prepare you for research in employment and explore your experiences during your apprenticeship through reflection and interaction.

In this module you will undertake an investigation into a live issue or problem being experienced by the employer. You'll identify, design and present a chosen project outline with explicit terms of reference, structure and an action plan. You'll demonstrate your employable skills, intellectual abilities and conceptual thinking.

The aim of this module is to introduce you to the processes of interface design and evaluation. You'll cover computer users, interaction technology and concepts, interactive applications and the context of computer use.

You will study intellectual property rights and ethical issues relevant to computer professionals. You'll develop skills in research, analysis, presentation, and debate, as well as learning by researching, preparing, and arguing a case. The module covers topics such as system security and the investigation of the crime to professional negligence and liability for defective software.

This module studies the use of the Internet to conduct business electronically. You will gain knowledge on how commercial application of network has grown rapidly in recent years and how technology remains dynamic. You will adopt a critical, strategic approach to business and how to use the internet with that environment.

The module aims to use learning in practice as an aid to professional development. Develop a good understanding of the personal and professional attributes required for a Digital and Technology Solutions professional.

This module aims to explain the importance of user experience in the design and use of products and services, you'll explore the methods used to improve the user experience of multi-platform interactive media and place the user experience at the forefront of your thinking.
