The University of Central Lancashire complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 whenever it processes personal data.

Data Protection Officer

The University’s Information Governance Manager & Data Protection Officer advises the University how to comply with data protection legislation and manages and coordinates requests made under the UK GDPR and associated legislation.

ICO registration

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the lead supervisory authority for UK GDPR purposes for UCLan and its subsidiaries. UCLan is registered with the ICO as a data controller and our registration number is Z5512420. You can see the general purposes for which we process personal data in our register entry which is publicly available on the ICO’s website.

Accessing your information

Data protection legislation gives individuals the right to ask any organisation that processes personal data about them for a copy of that information. You are entitled to see personal data that are held electronically as well as those held in most manual records. These types of requests are called Subject Access Requests (SAR).
