In addition to responsibilities as a lecturer, Zaman also co-ordinates the recruitment of students in the School and is also completing a Professional Doctorate in Education that focuses on the retention of students in widening participation institutions. Zaman also has research interests in legal pedagogy and sports law, and has published in the International Sports Law Journal, has delivered conference papers on pedagogy, and is also co-author of Essential Legal l System and Legal Services for SQE 1 (Routledge, 2024).
Prior to joining us, Zaman worked as a lecturer at other higher education institutions, and held programme leadership and academic coordinator responsibilities and implemented law school marketing, recruitment and retention strategies. Prior to joining academia, Zaman worked as a fee earner at a leading firm of solicitors specialising in insurance litigation, legal spend management and dispute resolution. This included conducting Part 7 and Part 8 proceedings, in addition to resolving matters via the dispute resolution process. Zaman has acted on behalf of Top 100 insurance organisations, local/central government, FTSE 100 companies, law firms, captives and leading risk management companies.
