Professor Yahaya Yusuf

Yahaya's teaching covers Operations Management and Supply Chains Planning and Control. His research has led to a number of industrial collaborations with funding from the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council and the British Council. Yahaya also supervises PhD/DBA students in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Sustainable Productions, and Oil and Gas Operations Management.

Yahaya has published in a number of well-established journals including the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, International Journal of Production Economics, and European Journal of Operational Research. He serves on the international advisory boards of a number of academic conferences. He was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Agile Systems and Management and currently on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management, Benchmarking: An International Journal.

Yahaya has been a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College since January 2006. He chaired one of the SPIE conferences in the USA and consulted for the Petroleum Technology Development Fund in Nigeria between 2010 and 2013. Yahaya led and chaired EPSRC-funded workshops at both the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai – two leading Chinese institutions – in summer of 2006. He has served and continue to serve on the International Programme Committees of several conferences around the world and being invited to give talks where, for example, he was invited by the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, on the 16 of September 2016 to give a talk on the contentious issues of Corporate Social Responsibility in the Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Industry. Yahaya has extensive experience of knowledge transfer activities and enterprise project funding having successfully secured three Knowledge Transfer Partnerships from the DTI/EPSRC and three international enterprise partnership and collaborative programme funding from the British Council. He has been a reviewer for the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Switzerland's foremost institution in the promotion of scientific research. He has also acted as a reviewer for His Majesty's Research Trust Fund of Oman and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO, the Dutch Research Council). Yahaya has supervised 16 PhDs to completion and examined more than 25 PhDs.
