Toby has taught leadership to university students for over a decade and currently develops our MBA candidates with the skills they need for success. In addition, Toby works with business managers across the Northwest of England offering consultancy and training to improve performance.
As a young entrepreneur, Toby organised large dance events and festivals in the 90s using pirate radio as a marketing channel. In an attempt to legitimise his interest in radio, Toby took employment as a project manager at St Martins College and in this role he successfully established a community radio station as a social enterprise; the station continues to broadcast to this day. In recognition of his abilities, he was then encouraged to teach entrepreneurship at the University of Cumbria whilst completing his MBA in Leadership and Sustainability. During this time he led the development of the award winning Aspiring Leaders programme. In 2013, Toby left the university and established his own management training company which served large organisations on the west coast of Cumbria. After two years, his love of teaching drew Toby to a position in Blackpool where he accepted the role of course leader for the BA (Hons) Business and Financial Management for Lancaster University. Toby joined the School of Management at UCLan in 2017 and led a module engaging undergraduates with live management consultancy projects for business clients. He now teaches on our MBA programme.
