Suzanne Ashton
Suzanne teaches a range of subjects across our BSc Operating Department Practice and Operating Department Practice Degree Apprenticeship programmes. As a qualified Operating Department Practitioner and registered member of the Health & Care Professions Council, Suzanne brings a wealth of clinical experience she is able to incorporate within her teaching.
Suzanne joined us as a lecturer in February 2021. Prior to her appointment, she worked as an Operating Department Practitioner for the National Health Service and undertook a variety of roles within the Operating Department and intensive care. Suzanne leads a number of modules and has a keen focus on curriculum design, teaching excellence and the student experience.
Suzanne completed the BSc Operating Department Practice Degree here before gaining direct employment in the field. She has worked across a number of organisations including the NHS and private practice and has experience in a wide range of surgical specialities including Ear, Nose and Throat, Maxillofacial, Vascular, General and Robotic Surgery.
