Steve`s current role is to deliver both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a number of topics. These include Manual Therapy & Injury Assessment, alongside supervising dissertation students.
Steve is a highly respected and experienced Physiotherapist who has made significant contributions to the field of sports medicine, notably serving as the Physiotherapist for Premier League clubs Blackburn Rovers, Leeds Utd & Bolton Wanderers.
Steve also has experience in international football with England U16s and 18s teams. With a career spanning over 40 years, 25 of which were in professional football, he has become a well-known figure in the world of football, known for his dedication to player wellbeing and injury prevention.
Steve's expertise extends beyond injury management and he is also known for his excellent communication skills which enable him to establish rapport with players, helping them both physically and mentally during their recovery journeys. Steve's dedication to the profession and the well-being of athletes has earned him a reputation as a trusted and invaluable team member.
Steve has taught on our BSc Sports Therapy programme for the last 7 years and he previously taught on the Sports Therapy programme at Edge Hill University.
