He has been with the School for over 30 years and has very many years of legal experience, both practical and academic. Shaun worked for several years with the Lord Chancellor's Department (now Ministry of Justice) in the Crown Court. Shaun studied for his law degree at University College London before taking the Law Society Final Examinations with the College of Law London. Shaun completed a postgraduate research degree with the Faculty of Laws, University of Sheffield (which was a funded research scholarship) before joining us in 1994.
Shaun received the Award for 'Best Lecturer' in the 2015 UCLan Golden Roses Awards organised by the Students' Union and in 2012 Shaun received the 'Most Passionate Lecturer Award' in those teaching Awards. Shaun was a member of the Graduate Diploma in Law team, that won the UCLan Vice Chancellor’s Award 2010/11 for "Outstanding Practice in Teaching and Learning: Overall Creation of a Superlative Student Experience". Shaun was also shortlisted for the Real-World Learning Award in 2017 for work in adapting the EU Law module to reflect the current legal and political situation, preparing students for the impact that Brexit will have on the profession.
