Rebekah Powell
Rebekah is part of the teaching team for our School of Business. In recognition of their contributions to teaching, Rebekah is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Rebekah is part of the teaching team for the MBA with professional placement, focusing on the employability of students through the delivery of professional development curriculum designed to prepare students for placement and the working world beyond. Rebekah also supervises postgraduate dissertations and projects for the MBA course.
Rebekah has an MA in English Literary Studies from Lancaster University, specialising in Modern and Contemporary Literature with a focus on Posthumanism and Postcolonialism. Rebekah worked in Professional Services from 2013-2020 at the University of Cumbria, leading on student support communications and working on the delivery of several long term projects, including the creation a new student case management system and the development of student interfaces such as the Student Hub. Rebekah delivered employability curriculum from 2014-2019, working across a range of university subject disciplines to introduce new curriculum targeting the employability of students from pre-entry to post-graduation.
