Our innovative learn-as-you-work MSc in Dental Education is fully online, so you can learn in a flexible way.

Course structure

MSc Dental Education course is delivered over 3 years.

  • In Year 1 you'll be introduced to the core educational principles and strategies in practice. Studying two modules; Facilitating Learning in Healthcare Practice and Mentoring in Dental Practice.
  • Year 2 of the programme adds depth and practice experience through applying a range of educational theories and assessment strategies. You'll cover the following three modules; Teaching Methods and Approaches, Assessment in Dental Education and Appraising the Educational Literature
  • In Year 3 you'll complete a research project module.

Entry requirements

  • Applicants must hold a relevant Dental degree such as Dental Hygiene or Dental Therapy or equivalent
  • Be actively engaged in dental practice
  • IELTS: 7.0 or equivalent in all components
  • All suitable applicants will be interviewed
  • Reference required
  • If you have already completed Facilitating Learning and or Mentoring in Dental Practice or equivalent please contact Vicky Buller to discuss entry onto the programme
