Our city central location, easily accessible campus, and the earn and learn model of course delivery enables students to work or volunteer alongside studying. We meticulously considered course design and have adopted a personalised approach to student support and guidance.
Our provision is ideal for those people for whom relinquishing paid employment in order to study is not a viable option, mature students who have not studied for some time, those who for a number of reasons wish to gain work experience alongside study rather than paid employment and people who wish to study close to home.
Our degrees have been specially designed to enable students to reflect on their work-place experiences and develop an understanding of the theory underpinning their practice. The degree is designed and delivered to ensure that all students have the opportunity to develop their academic skills for higher level study which is especially valuable for students returning to education after a break. It will also serve as a fantastic introduction to the academic expectations of Higher Education for those who have more recently studied.
The nature of Foundation Degrees means that they have a strong emphasis on work-based learning. This makes a graduate recruit attractive to an employer as you will have insight and preparation for the world of work and can apply the necessary skills immediately.
As part of your course, you will receive advice from specialist practitioners, from industries such as:
- Safeguarding
- Educational
- Child Psychologist
- OFSTED
- Forest Schools
- PREVENT
Many of our students have gained more responsibilities in their current roles from completing the Foundation Degrees with many gaining promotion.
