Laurent Noel has worked at UCLan since 2004 having been brought in from industry to provide expertise with the creation of the Games Development degree. Laurent is now the Course Leader for the Software Engineering degree and is responsible teaching across the Software Engineering and Games Development courses. He won the Lecturer of the Year award for his teaching style in 2011. Laurent is pursuing research in real-time stereoscopic rendering.
Laurent has 15 years commercial software engineering and games development experience. He has been founder, technical and company director for two studios and has developed dozens of software titles with in excess of two million sales.
Laurent won Lecturer of the Year for teaching style in 2011, nominated by students on his modules. This award is organised by the Student’s Union for all teaching staff across the university.
