Elizabeth is responsible for the academic element of the NSFA programme. Her involvement with medical aesthetics developed from her background in high power lasers and medical laser safety and education.
Elizabeth was a lecturer in laser safety in the Dept of Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University, and Head of Lasers at Loughborough College. She authored BTEC qualifications and national occupational training standards in medical and aesthetic laser/light based therapies and qualifications in laser safety management.
Elizabeth has published a number of scientific papers and articles on laser safety, and authored the HABIA booklet ‘Safe Use of Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Equipment’.
As Director of Laser Education Limited, Elizabeth designs and delivers training for laser/IPL distributors, hospital laser departments and Local Authorities. Elizabeth is also an RPA2000 accredited Laser/IPL Protection Adviser (LPA) providing independent laser/IPL safety training and clinic support services.
Her technical and educational writing includes training manuals for several laser distributors and suppliers, comprehensive materials and courses for the safe administration of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers and training materials for a laser based burns analysis device and other laser related products.
Elizabeth is a regular speaker at conferences and events and she regularly presents at aesthetic workshops and seminars for laser/intense light manufacturers and distributors and Environmental Health and Local Authority Enforcement Officers.
