David is an independent media professional with 20 years of experience. He combines lecturing part-time at UCLan with freelance life as a working journalist for newspapers, magazines and websites. He has previously worked at the Daily Telegraph and is a specialist in areas of writing are features, travel and family.


Full Profile

As a Lecturer in Journalism, I have taught on undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including the NCTJ-accredited Reporting Exam module. As a freelancer, I write for national newspapers, magazines and websites, including the Daily Telegraph, Guardian and Weekend FT. I also work as a copywriter, working on editorial brochure and web content for tourist boards and travel companies, such as Visit Wales and Marketing Manchester. I run my independent media-writing workshops, teaching all aspects of writing for print and online – from getting your idea published to finding your voice as a blogger. Finally, I work as a guest blogger and feature writer covering family, education and tourism for national publications. I am a guest speaker and pundit for multi-platform outlets.
