Andrew McDonald works in animation. Capitalising on the intensity of the medium, the artist creates his own claustrophobic world in which he sets, repetitive, and frequently unsettling actions. More recently Andrew has returned to making sculpture. Andrew knowingly subscribes to the Modernist notion of drawing and making as a mode of pure expression, an insight into the artist’s inner angst, often playing on the idea of the artist in isolation.
