Alison Astles is a lecturer in clinical pharmacy in the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Central Lancashire. Alison graduated from the University of Bradford in 1988 and has worked as a community, hospital and primary care pharmacist. She completed a diploma in prescribing science at the University of Liverpool and an MPhil at the University of Manchester.

She became a teacher practitioner at the University of Central Lancashire in 2010, and a lecturer in 2014. She is currently completing her PhD investigating professional engagement of locum community pharmacists.
