Facilities and Resources

The School’s laboratories, research facilities, staff and teaching space are all conveniently sited on the south side of the campus in Maudland Building. The close proximity of these amenities helps to foster a strong sense of identify within the School.

The laboratory facilities in the School are of an extremely high standard. Constant review of our practical and research laboratories enable us to provide a wide range of experimental facilities as part of our teaching programmes. Ongoing investment into our facilities has recently seen over £500K spent equipping its state-of-the-art pharmaceutics laboratory facilities, as well of the introduction of the £14-million JB Firth Building.

The laboratory facilities in the School are of an extremely high standard. Facilities include laboratories for chemistry, biology, biochemistry as well as specialised laboratories for pharmaceutics, tissue culture and molecular biology.

In addition to our excellent laboratory facilities we have specialised amenities, including our Pharmacy Practice Suite, Aseptic and Tissue Culture Suites and a full range of biomedical facilities, such as our excellent Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Histology and Microbiology Units. To enhance our teaching, laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including a fully-automated biochemical analyser and teaching mannequin for physiological/pharmacological simulation.
