The University of Central Lancashire is proud to work in partnership with Myerscough College, one of the leading specialist institutions in the United Kingdom for land-based studies and industry-specific sports coaching degrees. The College was recently voted in the top three land-based colleges in the country in the 2012 NSS Student Survey.
Myerscough recently became an Associate School of the University of Central Lancashire, bringing the historic partnership of over 20 years closer together, through an enhanced strategic collaboration, which capitalises on the complementary strengths within the institutions’ course portfolios and research specialisms, and enables students to access the facilities at both institutions.
Set in 600 hectares of green countryside, just six miles north of Preston city centre, Myerscough celebrates its 120th anniversary this year. It offers all the facilities you will need for a great education - both academically and socially - with excellent teaching and learning resources alongside superb sports facilities, a dedicated Higher Education centre and on-site accommodation.
The College has recently invested upwards of £14million on campus developments, and plans are also underway for a new £2million Veterinary Nursing Centre, opening in autumn 2013. The College has two commercial farms, an international equestrian centre, a golf course and simulated golf academy training centre, the National Arboricultural Centre, rural skills centre, engineering and motorsport workshops, a dedicated animal academy, a plant centre, gardens and arboreta, sports fields (including a state-of-the-art 3G pitch) and an indoor sports academy, on site.
What’s more, you’re in easy reach of all the shopping and nightlife that nearby Preston, Lancaster and Blackpool have to offer. If it’s fresh air you’re after, the surrounding countryside (plus the Lake District, just up the M6) offers unlimited mountain-biking and outdoor sports opportunities.
