School of Languages and International Studies

Welcome to the School of Languages and International Studies offering courses in Modern Languages and Area Studies, Interpreting and Translation, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), English as a Foreign Language, Business English and Intercultural Communication. We also offer part-time language courses for UCLan students, staff and members of the general public. We are a diverse school with staff and students from all over the world - a great place in which to make international friends and improve your intercultural communication skills! Many of our staff are research-active practitioners and we publish two open-access, peer-reviewed journals: Intercultural Promenades and the Journal of Second Language Teaching and Research.
