Dr Flavio Pisani

Flavio's main expertise is focused in biology and advanced surgical techniques in Periodontal Regeneration and Soft Tissue management around teeth and implants. He supervises PG Research Projects and Systematic Reviews in the discipline.

Since he joined us, he actively enhanced an Evidence Based Teaching and Learning in the Perio Programme, with a successful Clinical mentorship based on One-to-One student support and the integration of the BDS Perio teaching together with the PG course. Within the School, he is leading the Perio-Regeneration Team focused on the development of new biomaterials and biomolecules.

Flavio has been a keynote speaker to different National and International Conferences in Oral Surgery and Periodontology. He has actively published more than 19 peer-reviewed publications, 2 textbooks and 30 conference acta. He held an Adjunct Professor position at different Italian Universities, a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester, a Professoriate in Periodontology at the College of Medicine and Dentistry and actually is a Visiting Professor at the University of Bari since 2018.
