UCLan boasts a large bespoke darkroom suite within Victoria building.
The area has monochrome film processing facilities including a deep tank processing unit and film & print drying machines.
Within the two monochrome printing darkrooms enlargers are located in interconnecting safe lit bays with darkroom sinks for wet (dish) print processing.
A separate darkroom is specifically reserved for alternative processes where historic and traditional technologies can embrace digital technologies to produce unique work.
A third monochrome darkroom is reserved for advanced users, kitted out in an exact style with the addition of floor standing enlargers for sheet film.
18 Durst Enlargers with timers and masking frames for 35mm and 120 roll film.

Darkroom accessories include: Print trays (various sizes), measuring cylinders, thermometers, masking frames, contact print frames, enlarger timers, focus scopes, printing MG filters.

Workshop hours are from 9:30 to 12:30 and 13:30 – 16:30 Monday-Friday. Where possible and with prior arrangement technical staff will work flexibly during the working day to accommodate specific support requirements which do not fit into the specific time detailed above.
