Kit-Catalogue, a software developed by Loughborough University, makes UCLan’s equipment and facilities searchable, and facilitates sharing across the institution and with external partners. The data includes, individual items of equipment, groups of equipment (e.g. studios, workshops, suites or laboratories) as well as services and capabilities.
The data held in the system is based on UCLan’s fixed asset register and inventories. Kit-Catalogue has an external view, which shows information that has been made public, and also a more detailed internal view which is accessible only to staff and students. You can sign in using your UCLan network username and password. Access the catalogue.
Users can view information about each item, such as technical specifications and availability, and use an enquiry form to contact the equipment owner. It is possible to browse by school, category of equipment, manufacturer or search by keyword.
The public view also links into: http://equipment.data.ac.uk, the UK Higher Education National Equipment register which you can use to search for equipment at other Universities.
