On Wednesday 16 May, the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) welcomed The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to its Burnley Campus.
In one of the proudest days of the University’s history, students and staff took the Royal couple on a journey of educational discovery to see examples of world-class research and outstanding student work.
Professor Jim Richards and Professor James Selfe showed Her Majesty and His Royal Highness their research work which explores optimal treatments for a variety of health complaints and their work on the development of innovative rehabilitation equipment and products designed to prevent injuries with UK and international companies.
UCLan Vice-Chancellor Malcolm McVicar said: “Her Majesty’s visit went extremely well and was a great success. She was really interested in what the University is doing. She was very impressed with the links we have with industry.”
