    BA/BSc(Hons) Combined Honours (Year 3)

“I experienced some family-related problems just before my third year was due to commence. I found myself in a position where I was struggling financially and finding it hard to apply myself to university work due to stress."

“I received £200 of food vouchers from the Harris Bursary Fund. This was a great help as it allowed me to free up funds for other expenses such as books and transport. It was so reassuring to know that I had money for food."

“Once I finish my studies I intend to travel to South East Asia and teach English in a private school. I feel that by sharing my knowledge with children I can positively contribute to their future. I believe my family will be proud of my achievements."

Amy’s advice

“I would encourage anyone who is struggling at university to seek help and advice from the student services that are available at UCLan. I have found them to be helpful and they usually point me in the right direction. Do not struggle or contemplate quitting when help is available”

Amy’s thank you

“Thank you for your charitable deed. Your contribution to the Harris Bursary Fund has been of great help to me while I have been at university. It has also inspired me to decide that I will make a donation back to the Fund in the future.”
