Applicant Days

Register now for the next applicant day !

If you have received an offer from us, your offer letter will have an invitation enclosed for you to book directly onto an Applicant Day. Applicant Days are your chance to see exactly where you’ll be based, meet course tutors, other applicants for the same course as you and even current students who have gone before you, all strengthening that excellent choice you’ve made!

If you are not able to attend one of our Applicant Days, there are opportunities to come and visit us to get a taste of the UCLan experience. Register now for our next open days or join us for a campus tour.

Interview or Audition Students : Some of our courses invite students for an interview or audition day instead of an Applicant Day, which will include lots of information about your course and the opportunity to take a tour.

What is an Applicant Day?

If you received an offer from us, Applicant Days are your chance to see exactly where you’ll be based, meet course tutors, other applicants for the same course as you and even current students who have gone before you, all strengthening that excellent choice you’ve made! Your offer letter will have an invitation enclosed for you book directly onto an Applicant Day.

Some of our courses invite students for an interview or audition day instead of an Applicant Day, which will include lots of information about your course and the opportunity to take a tour around our campus.

If you are not able to attend an Applicant Day, There are still plenty of opportunities to come and visit us to get a taste of the UCLan experience.

 

What happens on the day?

Arrivals & Registration

Arrival, check-in at the desk – this may vary in location depending on your course, please refer to your email confirmation containing your check-in QR code.  Make sure you check your spam folder.

Subject Talk

You’ll get to meet your future course tutors and hear more about the course you’ve applied for - you can ask all the questions you want both from them and our current students.

Campus Tour

If you’d like to explore further, you can go on one of our campus tours, taking in all our facilities like our 24/7 library, our purpose-built sports centre just for students, places where you can eat – and drink – and some of the lecture theatres, classrooms or studios you might be studying in.

Accommodation Tour

Thinking of living in Preston? Our accommodation is close to campus, and close to the city centre – nothing is more than a 10 minute walk away, and being in the north of England, you’ll find our accommodation great value for money. Take a look at our halls, flats or en-suite accommodation and experience how easy it’ll be living away from home.

Visit Preston

Take a look round the city of Preston – you’ll be surprised how vibrant it is with plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, all just a short walk away. We’re a little city with a big personality!

Car parking

Reserved parking has been arranged on the following car parks:

Thursday 15th February & Tuesday 3rd April on Roeburn Car Park and Victoria Car Park (1 Victoria St, Preston PR1 7AY).

Saturday 24th February, Saturday 17th March & Saturday 21st April you can park on any UCLan car park with the exception of disabled bays/priority – unless required

Vehicles parked at the owners risk and the University  accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage that occurs to any vehicle  or its contents while on University  grounds, whether permission has been granted or not.

Food and Drink

After all that, you’ll be ready for a sit down- so have a chat to our staff and students over lunch and sample our complimentary menu on offer in one of our many food outlets.
 

What happens if I’m unable to attend?

If you’re unable to attend on one of our Applicant Days, find out more about Open Days and our Campus Tours as a great alternative to seeing the campus and finding out more about your chosen course.

Top tips to get the most out of your applicant day!



  • Make sure you pre-register so we can send you your personal itinerary for the day.
  • Join one of the UCLan Facebook groups for your subject, or check out our Student Room forum, and see if anyone else is coming to the same applicant day as you.
  • Invite someone to come along with you who can offer help and advice on your university decision. We are pleased to extend our invitation to parents, family and friends.
  • Think of what you want to know beforehand and bring a list of questions – our expert team will be happy to help.

  • Make the most of your day by talking to the current students too – they’ll give you a real feel for what it’s like to study the course.
  • Is there anything else you’re looking for in your university experience? Find out about our sports clubs and the many other clubs and societies run by the Students’ Union.
  • Get a feel for the city of Preston – you’ll love how friendly we are!
  • Find out how you can see the world, experience different cultures and enhance your careers prospects with our international exchange programme
