China Ambassador Scholarships

For International Students

China Ambassador Scholarships banner

The China Ambassador Scholarships are available to high performing students from the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong or Macau and are available to students choosing to study an undergraduate (except MBBS) or postgraduate taught programme at UCLan in the academic year 2019/20.

The scholarships are valued at 50% tuition fee and are available for a maximum of 3 years of study.

There are 6 scholarships available.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to apply for one of the China Ambassador scholarships, students must meet the academic and English language criteria as detailed below:

For entry to undergraduate programmes (except MBBS):

  • 3 Year leaving certificate from Senior High School with average grade of 85% or above* or
  • Graded units AA or AAA for SQA HND students or
  • IELTS 6.0 (with no component below 5.5) or equivalent taken within two years prior to your course commencement date
  • AND receipt of a satisfactory application form (see below).
  • AND satisfactory Interview** with UCLan China office

For entry to postgraduate taught programmes:

  • 4 year bachelor degree with minimum average of 80% or above* or
  • IELTS 6.5 (with no component below 6.0) or equivalent taken within two years prior to your course commencement date
  • AND receipt of a satisfactory application form (see below).
  • AND satisfactory Interview** with UCLan China office

Applicants must hold an offer to study at UCLan on an undergraduate (except MBBS) or postgraduate taught programme for 2019/20 entry.

Students in receipt of the China Ambassador Scholarship would not be eligible for any other scholarships, bursaries or discounts.

**Interview will be in the form of video or on-site.

Application Process

If you meet the above criteria, you are then eligible to submit an application for one of the China Ambassador Scholarships.

Please fully complete your application form and attach all supporting documents and return your application to the China Office Team at: gca@uclan.ac.uk.

The China Office will start to review applications from 1 June, with a final closing date of 31 August 2019.

Incomplete applications will not be acknowledged nor considered for a scholarship.

The decision of the Scholarship Panel is final.
