Our overseas programmes

The Turing Scheme was launched in 2021 by the UK government to support international study and work abroad. It was launched to replace the Erasmus+ programme, which the UK has left following its departure from the EU.
The Turing Scheme provides universities with funding to offer grants to students to carry out either a study or work placement throughout the world*

Have you ever imagined living in the cosmopolitan city of Madrid? Always wanted to experience the Northern Lights? Or perhaps you’d prefer to spend your exchange sampling the diverse culture of France.
Erasmus+ is a European Mobility Programme that enables you to study in Europe. We have links with over 65 European partners, in 19 countries through the Erasmus+ scheme.
The Erasmus+ Student Charter tells you more about how we provide support and guidance to students and staff wishing to take part in the mobility programme.

Develop your personal skills, gain international experience, improve employability and secure life skills. With over 300 member universities in the USA, and over 50 additional countries to choose from, ISEP really does open up the world.
The International Student Exchange Programme (ISEP) is an international network that encourages student exchanges all around the world. These exchanges allow students to ‘swap’ places with other students at universities that are also members of ISEP. Exchanges can be for a semester or for the full academic year.
Studying your course abroad
Some courses allow you to study in year 2 of your degree. You will study modules that you would normally study in Year 2 of your degree. The length of time it takes to complete your degree programme will not be impacted upon.
Some of our courses are not compatible with those in other countries, but students instead have the option to add a year to their degree and study modules that complement the course they currently undertaking at UCLan.
Please contact the Study Abroad team or your course leader to find out more about working or studying abroad during your chosen degree programme.
Internship opportunities
We have internship opportunities available around the world, be sure to keep checking back for new openings.
