Learning a new language can really broaden your horizons and will definitely give you the advantage and extra confidence needed when job-hunting, communicating with new friends or travelling the world.
Our part-time language courses are free to all UCLan students so whichever language you choose to learn UCLan has a pathway to suit you.
Our classroom-based Part-Time Languages Certificate offers 24 weeks of taught classes per level and is formally assessed. Classes start each September in Arabic, Catalan, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Urdu.
Elective route: Students choosing a module as an elective can register via the C&T Hub or online.
Certificate route: Enrolment for all candidates will take place on the following days:
Monday 16 Sept: Welcome Village
Wednesday 18 Sept: Language and Global Studies Fair, Foster Social Space, 12-2pm
Thursday 19 Sept: Languages Festival, Harrington Social Space, 12-2pm
Friday 20 Sept: Welcome Village
Monday 16 Sept - Friday 27 Sept: You can register at the C&T Hub in Computer & Technology Building, Room 235, from 10am until 4pm.
Our guided self-study Worldwise Languages includes access to the world-leading language-learning software Rosetta Stone – via the PCs in our Worldwise Learning Centre or online – for the duration of the academic year.
