As a UCLan student, your health and wellbeing is very important to the university. Alongside our dedicated on-campus medical centre and pharmacy, you have access to trained counsellors and mental health advisors. These teams are here to support you in a confidential manner throughout your time at university. Have you considered having or being a Student Mentor? The university's excellent mentoring scheme can provide help and guidance in all aspects of student life.
During your time at UCLan, there may be spells when you feel overwhelmed, stressed, experience difficulties with your health, housing, personal life, or studies. If you feel like this at any point or are finding things difficult in any other way, please do not hesitate to access support and advice as early as possible.
Our dedicated teams provide guidance on issues relating to your wellbeing, and our advisors offer support and advice to all students, in relation to any issue which may be impacting you. The advisors provide assessments, follow-up appointments, signposting, and can act as a liaison with both internal and external teams to help support you in your studies.
We offer a confidential, professional service, ensuring that you receive personal support. We recognise people as individuals, all with different needs, and we aim to provide support and guidance to suit your needs. Our support service is extensive and we can provide advice in many areas including alcohol and drug use, addictive behaviours, safety concerns, bereavement, stalking and harassment, forced marriage, physical health needs/injuries, victims of crime, and domestic violence.
To book an appointment with a Support advisor please telephone 01772 895000 or email the Student Information Centre (the 'i'). Alternatively, we provide regular drop-in session in the Library Drop-In Zone (located on the ground floor of the Library).
Drop-in sessions are available Monday (1100-1200), Wednesday (1200-1400), and Friday (1100-1200). There is no need to book - just drop in for a confidential chat!
