If you are living in districts covered by, Burnley Borough Council, Preston City Council or South Ribble Brough Council, UCLan has a special arrangement whereby you do not need to provide a certificate to obtain exemption from Council Tax. All full-time enrolled students have their details sent electronically, by the university, to these councils in late October. If you live within one of the above areas you simply need to contact your local council. Your name will then be checked on the electronic database sent by the University. Provided you have enrolled on a full time course at UCLan your details will be included on the electronic database.
If you recieve a final notification from the council please bring this directly to The <i> and we will issue a Council Tax Exemption Certificate.
