The Graduate Research School has oversight of all issues relating to postgraduate research students (PGRs) from enrolment to award.

Graduate Research School

The Graduate Research School is responsible for supporting the PGR research environment and culture, having oversight of the PGR journey and experience, delivering postgraduate research student training, as well as hosting PGR events.

  • We offer research skills training that is mapped to the Vitae Researcher Development Framework and has received the HR Excellence in Research award (see Training). Packages are available whether the student is full-time, part-time or off-campus.
  • We host the 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) competition and host the Annual PGR Conference.
  • We deliver a range of PGR research showcase events during the year.
  • We support the PGR Society.
  • We manage the UURIP (the UCLan Undergraduate Research Internship Programme).
  • We provide research grants to support PGR research activities.
  • We represent the PGR community at a University level.
