Preston Guild Hall is wheelchair accessible with lift access to all floors. The adjacent multi-storey car park has spaces available for blue badge holders and is connected to the Guild Hall via a covered walkway. The hall is equipped with induction loop systems for hearing aid wearers.
British Sign Language interpreters will be present at the ceremony. If you or any of your guests are deaf and require seats reserved in a suitable position to view the interpreter, please contact us.
Graduates: your seat will be reserved in the Grand Hall so that you can sit with your course colleagues however we may allocate a seat for you at the end of the row to provide easy access. University ushers will provide any assistance you may require to escort you to and from the presentation platform. We will discuss these arrangements with you when you arrive in the Grand Hall. Please contact us if you have a Guide Dog so that we can allow extra space.
Guests: Please contact us if you have a guest attending who will be accompanied by a guide dog so that we can reserve a seat with extra space.
Graduates: your place will be reserved in the Grand Hall so that you can sit with your course colleagues. There is lift access onto the presentation platform which will be operated by a University usher. We will discuss the arrangements with you when you arrive in the Grand Hall.
Guests: for safety reasons, there are designated areas in the Grand Hall for guests who are wheelchair users - located on the third floor facing the platform. Please contact us if your guest(s) require a wheelchair space.
Please note that the University is not able to provide wheelchairs for use at the Graduation Ceremony.
Graduates: your seat will be reserved in the Grand Hall so that you can sit with your course colleagues; we may however allocate a seat at the end of the row for easy access. There are three steps with handrails at each end of the presentation platform and, where possible, University ushers will provide any assistance that you may require to escort you to and from the platform. If you are not able to manage the steps safely then the Chancellor will come down from the platform when it is time for your presentation. We will discuss the arrangements with you when you arrive in the Grand Hall.
Guests: there is lift access to all levels at the Guild Hall. The ceremony will take place in the Grand Hall which is a large, tiered concert arena with plenty of aisle and low level seating. Specific, easily accessible rows will be reserved for guests with mobility difficulties however guests are free to choose where they would like to sit and it is not usually necessary to reserve specific seats.
