Careers Festival 2019

A signpost which says graduate jobs, postgraduate study, volunteering and work experience

2 days, hundreds of opportunities, great prizes*, free refreshments and lots more.

On the 4 and 5 November the Careers Festival takes over Foster Social Space and for two days only there will be over 100 employers, recruiters, voluntary organisations and post-graduate course leaders here on campus waiting to talk to YOU.

It doesn’t matter if you have just started your studies at UCLan or you are about to graduate, we have something for everyone. With a friendly festival vibe, there will be lots of freebies on offer, as well as the chance for you to hopefully find the sort of opportunity you always wanted.

Meet Employers

Over 100 employers will be at the Festival on Monday and Tuesday. Some will be looking for graduates to start full time graduate training programmes, others might have placements or internships on offer. The best way to find out is to come along and introduce yourself, find out more about what the company does and what sort of opportunities they have. Ask them questions such as “How do you recruit”? “When are the vacancy closing dates”. “What could I do to maximise my chances of working for you in the future”?

Employer Logos - contains BAE Systems, National Crime Agency, BBC, HMRC, NHS and Lancashire Constabulary

See which companies are looking for you! Details of which subject areas our exhibitors are interested in are here:

Prepare for the Fair

Before you come along you could practice your networking and communication skills by taking our short ‘Prepare for the Fair’ online course. You can practice your introduction and think about what you want to say, but it’s also about being yourself and just enjoying the opportunity to meet new people and discover more.

As well as employers many companies are bringing along UCLan graduates who now work for them. They can tell you all about what it’s like and how they got their jobs. Look out for the yellow stickers they will be wearing!

Just come along and see for yourself.

See you at the Festival.

Throughout the Festival we have lots of presentations going on all designed to inspire you and get you thinking about the career possibilities out there. Popular image guru Cliff Bashforth will be talking about the importance of Image and how to dress well for less. Don’t miss the chance to hear from the first UK female Tour Manager about how she turned rejection into something more positive. You can also get a professional LinkedIn photo taken and UCLan Careers can tell you how to make your LinkedIn profile work harder for you.
