Ask the Library Trainer

About us

At some point during your course you may feel the need for a boost in your Library and Information Literacy skills. This may be because you want to find academic information and you simply don't know where to start, or you want to extend your existing skills and improve your literature searching.

Ask the Library Trainer is here for you

We can give you guidance and advice with finding books and other information for your assignments.
We can also show you how to use RefWorks, our current referencing software package.

We aim to give you sufficient time to be of real benefit, so we have an appointment system, with a typical appointment lasting around 30 minutes. We have bookings available Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm. Come as an individual or bring a friend - we're happy to meet with groups of up to 4 people.

Before you make a booking take a look at our Online Training materials. You may find the help you need there.

Make an appointment

You can make your own appointment with a Library trainer through our Ask the Library Trainer Booking System. Choose a convenient time and fill in your details. You can book up to four weeks in advance.
It’s useful if you can tell us something about the help or training that you need.

We will send you an email confirming your appointment and giving you directions to our appointment room.

If you have any difficulty booking your appointment please email the Faculty Librarians.
