laptop email scam warning

All UCLan students now need to reset their passwords to tighten our digital security following the cyber-attack. Please note that there is no evidence that any data has been stolen so this is nothing you should be concerned about.

From Thursday 1 April at 8:30am you will have to reset your password when you log on to your UCLan account. You are required to reset your password immediately in order to access anything that requires your UCLan login, such as Blackboard, Teams and Office365 including email.

For the sake of your own digital security it is important that you do not use your new UCLan password for any other account or application i.e. online banking, shopping accounts, gym membership etc.

To reset your password

You will need to choose a brand new password. Your old password will no longer work.
Please go to Microsoft’s Self-Service Password reset page and follow the guidance below to choose a new password:

Reset your password - guidance  (word doc)

Reset your password - guidance (PDF)

When you sign into a service with your UCLan details you may need to enter an authentication code. You’ll see this message to advise a code has been sent to your registered mobile phone number.

You’ll receive a text message from Microsoft with the code.

Enter the code and select Verify to complete your login.

If you have any problems changing your password then please contact LIS at liscustomersupport@uclan.ac.uk - we are very busy at the moment so please do bear with us, we will respond to your email as soon as we can.
