The National Student Survey - Time to Look Back
28 Feb 2020
Each year final year undergraduates are asked to reflect upon and share your experiences of your time here at UCLan by completing the National Student Survey (NSS). The simple online survey is about student satisfaction and is completely anonymous. It will provide us with information about where we do well and where we need to improve.
Students who have previously filled in the NSS have helped to shape your student experience, now it's your time to tell us what you think.
Am I eligible?
In most cases, final year undergraduates are eligible to take the National Student Survey. If you are eligible, you should have received an email from Ipsos MORI during the week commencing 27 January 2020 and they will keep reminding you until you complete the survey.
When can I complete the survey?
The National Student Survey is now open to eligible UCLan students until 30 April 2020. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and can be filled in online through the link in your email or by visiting thestudentsurvey.com
. We recommend doing the survey as early as possible because Ipsos MORI, the independent research company who manage the survey, will continue to remind you until you complete it.
Everyone who entered the NSS before Saturday 29 February was automatically entered into a free prize draw for the chance to win a graduation photography package worth £60. The prize giveaway has now closed and the winners have been randomly selected by Ipsos MORI. If you are one of the 50 students who has won a graduation photography package, you will have received an email from email@example.com to your UCLan email address.
In addition, for every response, the University will make a contribution of £3 to the Harris Bursary Fund
which helps students who are experiencing hardship. In previous years, thousands of pounds have been added to the Fund, helping students right across the University.
Time to look back and reflect
This year a team of students from across the Faculty of Culture and the Creative Industries and the Lancashire School of Business and Enterprise are working with the University to encourage all eligible undergraduates to look back and reflect on your UCLan experience and complete the survey.
The advertising and marketing students have worked with University staff to create the ‘Time to Look Back’ campaign that is now visible across campus. Additionally, a campaign video has been produced and there are school events and activities taking place to help raise further awareness of the survey. It is really important to us that as many students as possible take part, so we get the full picture of student views.
Take a Journey of Reflection
Students are invited to go on a “Journey of Reflection” at two Time to Look Back events between 11am and 2pm in Harrington Social Space on Thursday 6 February, and Foster Social Space on Thursday 13 February. Take some time out to have a go at activities that will help you to relax, reflect and share your memories and experiences at UCLan with some free giveaways and a tasty treat!
