Looking after your eyes and your eyesight is extremely important and soon you will be able to take care of your eyes on the Preston Campus by visiting our brand-new eye clinic on the third floor in Harrington Building.

The University’s purpose-built eye clinic caters for all your eye-care needs with sight tests available to students from just £5. Appointments will start in October and you can enquire by emailing eyeclinic@uclan.ac.uk

With state-of-the-art equipment, including retinal photography and optical coherence tomography (OCT), you can book appointments for:

  • Eye examinations
  • Spectacle dispensing
  • Contact lenses
  • Low vision
  • Visual stress clinics
  • Visual display unit (VDU), display screen equipment (DSE) and occupational assessments

The eye clinic is fully-wheelchair accessible and caters for people with disabilities. It has 15 clinic rooms, a dispensing clinic, three instrumentation suites and own prescriptions are welcome.

Examinations are carried out by experienced members of staff or by our final year optometry students, under direct supervision. It will be open Monday – Thursday from 9.30am – 5.30pm and Fridays from 9.30am – 5pm.
