Whether you’re currently living in UCLan Halls or private accommodation, you may have already started to think about where you’re going to live next academic year and may be feeling overwhelmed by the decision. Well, don’t panic.
There’s plenty of time and you’ll always have options. It’s important to properly think about them all before jumping into a decision.
The truth is there’s lots of choice available and absolutely no need to rush into signing up for a property. Preston has more than enough student accommodation and we’re confident you’ll find somewhere to suit you. Take your time, think about what you want and see what options are open to you. To help we’ve included some possibilities below:
Whether you are a current resident or not, if you would like to live in University owned/leased halls of residence next academic year, you can take a look and register your interest now.
We’re not asking you to make a commitment to an accommodation contract for September 2021, as you can make a firm decision later. But considering your options and registering your interest will give you some peace of mind that you will receive an offer of a room in University controlled accommodation, should you decide to stay with us.
Remember, UCLan has a range of accommodation available to suit all budgets and you can choose to live with a group of student friends, or you can re-book your current room. You will need to apply by 14 February 2021 to be guaranteed your current room for the next academic year.
If you require further information or advice, please email StudentAccommodation@uclan.ac.uk
If you’re considering renting private accommodation there can be a lot of pressure to decide quickly but as we’ve already mentioned, accommodation options outnumber students in Preston, so do not feel rushed. There is no need to sign up too early.
We always recommend that when you do start looking you search for accommodation that is managed by a landlord who is registered with the UCLan accommodation service. While you’re studying at UCLan, we want you to live somewhere where you will feel safe and properties that are registered with the University mean they have been checked by accommodation staff.
The University works closely with registered landlords to ensure there is a good supply of different types of affordable, suitable and safe accommodation. The student accommodation service is here for all students to offer advice, provide information and help with any queries you may have about renting private accommodation, so please do get in touch.
The UCLan Studentpad website is where all our registered private landlords advertise their properties to you. These landlords register with us each year and agree to abide by the University‘s Core Requirements. This means if you use Studentpad to find your private accommodation you will be dealing with student-friendly landlords who are committed to giving you a good property at a reasonable price.
To search for private registered accommodation, go to uclanstudentpad.co.uk and use the password orange.
Remember, don’t let anyone pressure you into signing up to a contract until you are 100% sure, and if in doubt, come and talk to us by calling 01772 892526 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
