Current UCLan students can receive some software free for home use by completing and returning the forms below, the software will then be provided automatically via your UCLan email.
We require you to complete a Licence Agreement form for each copy of software you require. Choose the relevant form for the software title below. Please be aware that since the licensing regulations for each software title may vary, the forms for each are different. It's therefore important that you choose the correct form and read them carefully before signing.
Due to the way a Chromebook is designed to work via ChromeOS and the Google App Store it is not possible for you to use software downloaded via the UCLan home use method. Several of the applications that are available from this page are also on the Citrix Remote Access (RA) platform. This Chromebook guide shows you how to access RA from your device. More details on the Remote Access service can be found here but you must use the separate Chromebook guide to connect. Please note that we are adding software to RA all the time so the list of applications may not be up to date.
The following software is available to use at home on compatible devices:

Microsoft Forms allows you to create surveys in Office 365 and either share them to authenticated users within your organisation, or with anonymous respondents anywhere. Use the LinkedIn Learning resources to watch training videos on how to create surveys.
Qualtrics is a sophisticated tool to assist in building surveys. It enables you to create simple or sophisticated surveys with a full range of question types and visual controls to make your survey more interesting and interactive. Rather than using (free) Survey Monkey which limits the number of questions, respondents and doesn’t support exporting your results for analysis, Qualtrics allows you to quickly export your data to Excel (or SPSS).

Survey Monkey is not supported by the university as a central subscription would not work in our network environment. If the only tool you can use is Survey Monkey you will need to purchase your own personal subscription which will make you responsible for maintaining your own backups of surveys from their servers.
While we'd love to be able to provide you with the full range of software that is on the University network for use on your home computers, unfortunately, due to Licensing regulations, that's not possible. It is possible to get some software for student use directly from the supplier such as Autodesk and Adobe and single use copies of applications can be purchased from most online stores that sell computer software.
All current students studying at UCLan are able to use Microsoft Office 365 for FREE via their UCLan account. This service includes:
