Access Reading Lists Online

  • Via your module space on Blackboard: choose the link in the menu on the left hand side


I can't find my reading list in Reading Lists Online

Contact and let us know the module that you are studying. We can arrange with your lecturer to add the list to Reading Lists Online


My lecturer has given me a list, but it is not the same as the one on Reading Lists Online

Contact We will contact your lecturer to ensure that any changes made to your reading list are updated on Reading Lists Online.



There is a book on my reading list, but it is not available in the library

Check the Library Search to see if the book has recently been purchased, it may be that the reading list has not yet been updated. If the book title does not appear on the library catalogue, this means the library does not have the book in stock at present. These titles will be ordered as a matter of priority. You are free to source your own copy if you wish to.


There is a book on my reading list but it is only available at the Burnley library

If your course is running at Preston, the book will have been flagged to purchase for the main library. You can request books that are only stocked at Burnley HE site, by filling in a grey reservation form, available from The <i> on the ground floor of the library.

The links to the journal articles are not working

Make sure you are using the correct link.

In the example below choose the web address:

If the link still does not work, check the Journal Finder on our web pages. You may be able to link to the journal article directly from here.


Ebsco Databases

If you click on a link to a journal article and see a message that says 'A system error has occurred' please email with the module code for the list, and the article affected. These links need to be amended in order for them to connect correctly.

If you are using reading lists online off campus you may need to log on using your university network username and password in order to access the full text of a journal article. If the link still does not work, contact
