Searching for journal articles (Subject-specific journal databases)

  • Criminal Justice Abstracts with Full-Text- over 200,000 references to articles, books and reports in criminology. Subject areas covered include: criminal justice; criminal law and procedure; corrections and prisons; police and policing; criminal investigation; forensics sciences and investigation; history of crime; substance abuse and addiction; probation and parole.
  • HeinOnline Law Journal Library - 1200 law and law-related periodicals
  • International Security and Counter Terrorism Reference Centre - scholarly writings with expert commentary and timely reviews of recent developments across the international political, military, economic, social and technical spectrum
  • Lexis Library - UK law reports and legislation together with legal journals. It also incorporates the online version of Halsbury's Laws of England; a key legal research encyclopedia covering all aspects of English Law.
  • Westlaw - law reports and legislation from the UK and Europe, together with many legal journals.

Should you want to undertake a more thorough search for research materials/literature, try searching the following abstract and indexing databases. Unlike our other databases, generally you will only find the abstract of articles within these databases. Conference papers are also available too.
